Dude's talking about vectors. The statement that mathematicians were wrong all this time is just ridiculous. That's why we distinguish vectors from scalars. If I have a bunch of change in my hand, it doesn't matter what "direction" I count it in! It's still the same!
it only matters if you change direction mid counting which doesn't seem like a logical thing to do. if you have four dimes and you count them all in one direction, whatever the direction, you will get the same amount. of course if you start going right then go back and count each one to the left you would have twice as much but your amount wouldn't be accurate
